A wide range of pumps are at a disadvantage when pumping high-density mineral concentrated in thickener underflow transfer.

Albin’s peristaltic pumps can handle fluids containing high concentration of solids. This includes concentrated liquids or slurries containing up to 65% solids.

The wide pump range eases the customer’s choice to select low flow pumps from a few liters per hour up to large pumps for high flow up to 130 m3/h (572 gpm).

Our pumps have a seal-less design. This means our long-lasting hose, Prolonged Life hose, is the only part that is in contact with the fluid. This reduces operator exposure to harmful fluids and makes the hose the only regular maintenance item.

The seal-less design is one of the key benefits of our Albin Pump peristaltic pumps. Other pump types use mechanical seals, which can allow parts such as impellers and valves come in contact with the fluid.

Our pumps have uniquely designed hoses that let them run longer with less downtime. This offers a big advantage compared to rubber lined centrifugal pumps for example, which wear out quickly and need more frequent servicing.

Albin Pump products can operate in both directions and can be serviced on site. These pumps are ideal for thickener underflows, slurry transfer, and chemical dosing.

Why are Albin Pumps the first choice in mining applications?

✓ Our peristaltic pumps have a proven design and are able to transfer thickener underflow slurries containing various chemicals with a high concentration of fine particles.

✓ Globally, mines are using more and more Albin Pump hose pumps for a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) versus rubber lined-centrifugal pumps (amongst other high-speed rotary equipment). The reasons are directly related to lower maintenance costs required for a peristaltic pump (one hose), a seal less design, and its ability to pump thicker slurries versus a need for mechanical seals and costly water consumption and delivery methods (both for seal maintenance and dilution of the slurry) associated with running and maintaining centrifugal pumps while in process.

✓ Engineered for reliability, our peristaltic pumps ensure continuous dry-run operation without damage.

✓ The peristaltic design allows gentle transfer of abrasive solids through the hose without damaging it, in contrast to a rubber lined centrifugal pump generally running at a much higher speed and causing quick wear on impellers, shafts, and seals.

✓ The hose is the only wearing part and can be changed without using any special tools.

✓ Hoses are made with the highest quality rubber compound and offer long life span thanks to its structure with inner reinforcement layers. All hoses are engineered to last longer and can handle abrasive and concentrated fluids.
